Welcome to Ocklynge Road.

Hello!

I’ve been providing osteopathy in Ocklynge Road now for about 6 months now. Everyone has been so positive about the new workspace, even though it needs a little TLC. I’ve met some lovely neighbours and the new guys at the post office next door. I’m really enjoying being part of the community again.

The past

The building at 48 Ocklynge Road has been part of local history for many years but it’s a bit unclear as what – a deli or a bakery maybe. Does anyone remember it?

Ocklynge Road in days gone by.

Here’s a lovely pic from many years ago with all those wonderful shops – I guess this was before the rise of the supermarket.  If anyone has any information about the shops or the history of Ocklynge Road – please share.  I would love to hear it.

The present

I can’t wait to get the outside tidied up.  I have been working hard in the ‘garden’ area and have scattered some meadow seed.  Fingers crossed we might get some flowers this spring.  The render repair and the paint job on the outside are both long-overdue.  One day it will look smart and will have proper sign-writing done to top it off.

The inside is taking shape and I’m getting to grips with working in my new space.  The recent sunny afternoons, for example, have been a pleasant surprise but we’ve almost needed to wear sunglasses in the consultations as it’s been so bright in the treatment room!  Blinds are coming very soon.

The future

The workspace has more than I need.  So, hopefully, in the not too distant future, I will be offering the rear room to anyone who might like a little office/clinic room with a garden view. Watch this space to see what might be available as an additional treatment.

Lots of my super osteopathy patients have found my new place by now. Even some from years ago have cropped up too. I love opening the front door to welcome them in. This will be even better when I have a nice new door! I’ve had to extend my working hours too to keep the diary flexible for bookings. This is to help new patients to book in – if they’ve got a raging sore back, tingly arm, throbbing headache or just in desperate need of some help, they can’t wait too long for an appointment.

Chair Pilates and some small group Pilates sessions are also on the cards, when I get chance to sort it out. I am very grateful to be in this great location –  providing a local service to keep you lovely Old Towners fit and pain-free.

Best wishes,

Gail
